So Lucky!
I have to admit, I’ve never been a real big thrift store shopper. Occasionally I’ll stop in when I’m looking for something specific for say a costume, or a craft project. That is exactly why I was at our local thrift store last week with Diva. She is getting ready for camp this week and they are dressing up every day. She’s flipping through the jean’s on the rack and we are both getting a good laugh at some of the high waisted, straight leg, or better the over sized elastic waist baggy bum pants that remind me of my mom and made me a little misty eyed. Then, all of a sudden, WHEEE!!! a gorgeous pair of LUCKY jeans in the Right Size flipped in to view. I held my breath. No WAY! I checked them over for What Was Wrong. NOTHING! They were only $10! I just hit the JACKPOT BABY! I grabbed those off the rack and held them up for Diva to see. I was thrilled with my Thrifty Find! She looked at me with a totally blank stare…’what’s lucky?’
I was crushed! ‘What’s LUCKY?, only $100 or more JEANS, theses are not just jeans, these are JEANS!’
I’ve come to 2 conclusions. Either 1) I’ve done an amazing job raising children who could care less about fashion labels and are just content to have clothes to wear. (Remember this daughter is named Diva). OR 2) I’m really older than I like to think and this particular brand of JEANS is no longer cool and I’m deluding myself into thinking I made a score.
I think I’m going to go with conclusion #1. I happily spent my $10 on probably the only pair of LUCKY jeans I’ll ever have, out of style or not.
Wow. A Bloggity Blob.
Yes. I said a Bloggity Blob. Because that is what this page currently looks like. I want this page to look like a beautiful, colorful work of art. I also want it to magically appear. Because I was cursed with the worst case of perfectionimpatienism in the world, there will be much weeping, wailing and g-nashing of teeth until this page is ready!
I also realized while looking for a picture of myself for the About Me section that while I am an avid picture taker I am also an avid picture avoider, so that is another little detail that will have to be remedied some time this week.
While I would like to have found a super cute graphic and posted it, even that is beyond my novice skills at this time so please use your imaginations, and pretend that there is a giant yellow sign that says ” Under Construction.” Come back next week. I promise there will be more!
